Robert De Niro and Zac Efron are in early talks to star in QED International's Dirty Grandpa. The story follows a young man (Zac Efron) who, just before his wedding, gets tricked by his perverted grandpa (Robert De Niro) to go on a road trip to Florida for spring break. The grandfather, a former U.S. Army General, tries to prove to his grandson that he is about to marry the wrong woman.

Dan Mazer, who has co-written the scripts for Sacha Baron Cohen's Borat, Bruno and The Dictator, is directing from a script by John Phillips, with Barry Josephson producing. The project was initially set up at Universal Pictures, but now QED International will be shopping the project at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Zac Efron recently starred in Neighbors, a performance which, ironically, included an impression of Robert De Niro's character Travis Bickle from Taxi Driver. He will next be seen in The Associate.

Robert De Niro will next be seen in Hands of Stone and The Intern.
