Disney Channel announced today that the Boy Meets World spin-off Girl Meets World has been renewed for Season 2, which was confirmed by the show's official Twitter account.

The show, which has only aired five episodes since debuting on June 27, has become the most popular cable series for viewers between the ages of 2 and 14.

Here's what Disney Channel Worldwide Original Programming Vice President Adam Bonnett had to say in a statement.

"The series swiftly became a favorite of kids and their parents, many of whom grew up with Boy Meets World. We're looking forward to watching Riley Matthews and Maya Hart make the world their own, as Cory and Topanga teach them life lessons along the way."

Boy Meets World stars Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel return as Cory and Topanga, now married and raising their teenage daughter Riley (Rowan Blanchard). Boy Meets World star William Daniels, who played Mr. Feeney, has already guest-starred on the show, and the Friday, August 15 episode "Girl Meets Maya's Mother" featuresLee Norris, better known as Stuart Minkus to fans of the original series.

Production on the second season will begin in November.
