It seems Disney has locked down a new release date for an upcoming film and some other studios have shifted other dates around as well. According to Variety, Disney has set The Sorcerer's Apprentice with a July 16, 2010 release date.

In other notable release date news, Warner Bros. has announced that Richard Kelly's new film, The Box, will open earlier on October 30 from its original November 25 date. Filling in that slot, the studio will unleash Ninja Assassin on November 25, a film which was originally set to be released in 2010.

Disney also announced it was moving The Proposal from June 19 up a week to June 12, to clear the way for the Sony actioner The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3, which opens on June 12.
