Djimon Hounsou has signed on to play an unspecified role in Universal Pictures' Fast & Furious 7.

Vin Diesel and Paul Walker return in the sequel, alongside Jason Statham as Ian Shaw, the brother of Fast & Furious 6 villain Owen Shaw played by Luke Evans. Other new additions include UFC fighter Ronda Rousey, martial artist Tony Jaa, Game of Thrones star Nathalie Emmanuel and Kurt Russell. The production is expected to add many franchise favorite cast members in the near future.

James Wan (The Conjuring, Insidious Chapter 2) is directing from a screenplay by Chris Morgan, with Neal H. Moritz producing. No plot details have been revealed, except that the franchise will return back to Dominic Torreto and Brian O'Connnor's hometown of Los Angeles.

Djimon Hounsou will next be seen in Baggage Claim later this month, along with Seventh Son and a voice role in How to Train Your Dragon 2 next year.
