The release of Marvel Studios latest movie Doctor Strange is creeping up very fast, and with that, we will be getting a lot of new information in the coming weeks. We already know a lot about the plot of the movie as well as the cast, but one thing of note is that, as of right now, it is pretty much absent of any familiar faces. However, a new rumor that has surfaced suggests that at least one familiar MCU face may be joining Stephen Strange, albeit briefly, for his first cinematic adventure.

A recent post to The Angry Ginger Twitter account suggests that none other than Tony Stark may be featured in Doctor Strange, though only in a cameo role. The Angry Ginger is a podcaster and comic book writer as well as a "self-publisher," so this may not be the most solid rumor around. But it also doesn't seem like a crazy, outlandish thing either. Robert Downey Jr. is very committed to the MCU, and it would be a nice thing to have the face of the Marvel Universe to give their latest hero a boost. Here is what the Tweet had to say.

"It appears as if my little spies have bagged me a scoop! Tony Stark may have a cameo in #DoctorStrange"

There is no word on who these "spies" of his are, or where the information is coming from, so this should definitely be taken with a grain of salt. It would make sense to have Tony Stark show up in a post credit scene, perhaps to recruit Stephen Strange to The Avengers or something like that. Given that the team is pretty splintered after the events of Captain America: Civil War, and with Infinity War looming, it would seem logical for Stark to want to get a powerful new ally in the form of Benedict Cumberbatch as The Sorcerer Supreme.

At the moment, it seems like Doctor Strange is poised to be a potentially big, surprise hit for Marvel Studios. Similar to Guardians of the Galaxy a couple of years ago, very few people outside of die-hard comic book fans are familiar with Doctor Strange. But, with a cast absolutely stacked with talent, two trailers that have really impressed fans so far and a promising director in Sinister helmer Scott Derrickson, it has all of the same ingredients Guardians had going for it. There is no doubt, that even if it were for a brief moment, having Robert Downey Jr. show up in the movie could help bring more casual fans to the theater.

Doctor Strange is going to be a big change of pace in terms of what fans have come to expect from a Marvel Movie, as it will be introducing straight-up magic, as well as the multiverse, into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The story centers around a neurosurgeon named Stephen Strange who gets in a terrible car accident that leaves him with permanent nerve damage, ruining the use of his hands. This leads him on a quest that eventually finds him crossing paths with The Ancient One, where he discovers the ways of sorcery. The movie stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Tilda Swinton, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Mads Mikkelsen, Benedict Wong, Rachel McAdams and, if we're lucky, Robert Downy Jr. Doctor Strange is directed by Scott Derrickson and hits theaters on November 4.
