Long before the Comic-Con schedule was announced last week, Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson teased that his comic book adaptation would be heading to San Diego. While Marvel hasn't confirmed what movies will be showcased during their Hall H panel on Saturday, July 23, Doctor Strange will surely be in the mix, and today we have word that fans attending the convention will get to take home a new poster featuring the Sorcerer Supreme in action. If you're going to SDCC next week, be sure to stop by the Marvel booth to pick up this poster.

Entertainment Weekly has our first look at this poster, which features production concept art from artist Ryan Meinerding. The site also caught up with the actor while visiting the set earlier this year, where he was asked to compare this iconic Marvel Comics hero to another beloved character he plays, Sherlock on the hit BBC TV series. Here's what he had to say, when asked what both characters have in common.

"The two men are intelligent. Finito. That's it. Stephen Strange is a lover, he's a materialist, he's arrogant, but he's got a great sense of humor. There are smatterings of the same colors that Sherlock has, but he's not on the spectrum."

We recently got confirmation that Mads Mikkelsen's mysterious villain is in fact Kaecilius, which many had speculated for some time. A prequel comic dubbed Marvel's Doctor Strange Prelude revealed that Kaecilius was a former Master of the Mystic Arts, working with The Ancient One (Tilda Swinton) and Wong (Benedict Wong). Hopefully we'll get to see more of this character in action with new footage that may debut at SDCC next weekend.

The Doctor Strange cast also includes Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo, Rachel McAdams, who is reportedly playing the Night Nurse, Michael Stuhlbarg, Amy Landecker and Scott Adkins. Scott Derrickson directs from a script he co-wrote with C. Robert Cargill, based on the Marvel Comics. Take a look at this new Comic-Con concept art poster for Doctor Strange, and stay tuned for more on this highly-anticipated movie as we get closer to SDCC and its November 4 release date.
