Avid comic book collectors who scooped up every Marvel mini-series during the mid-80s has a soft spot for Rocket Raccoon, a character that held down his own four-issue limited run in 1985 after making his debut nine years earlier in 1976. He's not as widely known as Spider-Man or Captain America, but Guardians of the Galaxy hopes to change all that in 2014, when James Gunn's sci-fi epic hits theater screens and toy shelves across America. There has been a lot of talk about who will voice the character, and possibly even perform motion capture for the tiny little beast. Director Gunn wants to get it right, as Rocket has the potential to be the break out character that owns all of next summer.

Latino Review now claims to know who, exactly, Marvel Studios is aiming to cast as the voice and soul of Rocket Raccoon. And guess what? Its not Adam Sandler or Jim Carrey, as previously reported.

No, now, apparently, James Gunn and the studio want to hire Bradley Cooper for the role. This has yet to be confirmed by Disney or Marvel, but a source in England close to the project says that an offer has been made to the actor.

In a recent interview, the director had this to say.

"Here's the thing: there are a lot of people who have a lot of ideas of who is right for Rocket Raccoon. Rocket Raccoon has been slightly different over the years, in the comic books, and within my scripts he is a very, very specific guy, and I think people are going to have to wait for a few weeks before they see. We'll have to wait for a few weeks to see. We'll get our dream guy, because a lot of people want to do it, so we'll get the person who's perfect for the role."

What do you think? Is Bradley Cooper the right guy for the role? Or is this still all just high speculation at this point? Who do you want to see voice Rocket Raccoon?
