Although we recently reported that Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer was set to direct a new Danny McBride film, it seems he has another project going first. According to The Hollywood Reporter, DreamWorks has acquired the rights to an untitled comedy pitch for Fleischer to direct.

Mike Arnold and Chris Poole are writing the project, based on an original idea by Fleischer, and although the storyline is being kept under wraps, it was said the film will be a buddy cop comedy. Nicholas Stoller, who directed the upcoming comedy Get Him to the Greek, is producing alongside Zombieland producer Gavin Polone.

It was said the script hit the market late last week and DreamWorks managed to win the bidding war over Paramount, Sony and Universal. No production schedule was released for the film.
