The big screen World of Warcraft video game adaptation Warcraft is finally ready to start shooting in early 2014. This has caused director Duncan Jones to jump ship on his other upcoming project Fleming, a biopic on James Bond creator Ian Fleming.

Duncan Jones was desperate to direct both projects, but scheduling became too much of an insurmountable obstacle. He would have directed Fleming first, but Warcraft producers were unwilling to wait an additional two years for their long-gestating project to get off the ground.

Warcraft already has a firm December 18, 2015 release date set in place by Universal Pictures. Though the film will be done shooting by mid-2014, it will be followed by an extra-long post-production schedule.

K5 International, the company behind Fleming, is currently seeking a director who can 'hit the ground running'. Casting is expected to start early next year, but it is not known how soon the film will go before cameras.
