Dunkirk gets director Oliver ParkerOliver Parker has inked a deal with Working Title UK to direct the upcoming historical project titled Dunkirk.

Written by Gavin Scott, the film tells the story of the courageous British civilians who rescued countless British and French troops during World War II. The battles that took place gave allies the advantage during the war.

Oliver Parker is best known for directing St. Trinian's, Dorian Gray and most recently Johnny English Reborn. Gavin Scott previously penned the family films Small Soldiers and The Borrowers.

A production date has not been set.
