Dustin Hoffman has signed on to star in the Untitled Cycling Project, which centers on the life of disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong. No details were given for his character.

Ben Foster stars as Lance Armstrong, with Chris O'Dowd portraying the journalist who helped uncover the massive doping scandal that tarnished his seven Tour de France victories. Jesse Plemons, Guillaume Canet and Lee Pace also star in unspecified roles.

Stephen Frears is directing from a screenplay by John Hodge. Production is currently under way in Europe, although Dustin Hoffman won't join the cast until the shoot moves back to the U.S. for the final stages of production.

Dustin Hoffman will next be seen in Very Good Girls and Chef. He also joined the cast of The Cobbler last month, which stars Adam Sandler.
