Ellen Barkin has joined NBC's pilot Mann's World. The series revolves around a straight, aging hairdresser forced to contend with the younger, hipper Los Angeles crowd.

Ellen Barkin will play the funny, forgiving ex-wife of title character Allan Mann, played by Don Johnson. Together, this separated couple have three children and a beauty empire, from which Barkin has removed herself on a day-to-day basis. Now, she simply serves as the company's financial and emotional advisor.

Mann's World was created by Michael Patrick King, and is aiming to make it onto NBC's 2011 fall schedule.
