‘Elysium’ Moves Up One Week

Matt Damon's Elysium will hit theaters on March 1, 2013 Sony Pictures has moved its sci-fi drama Elysium up one week to March 1, 2013. The move comes after Disney slated its Sam Raimi adventure Oz: The Great and Powerful for release on Elysium's old release date, March 8, 2013.

Little is known about the story of Elysium, other than it is set in outer space and will have the same sort of allegorical tones which were featured in Neill Blomkamp's first movie, District 9.

Matt Damon, Jodie Foster, Sharlto Copley, Wagner Moura, and William Fichtner are starring in Elysium. Neill Blomkamp is directing from his own screenplay, with Bill Block and Simon Kinberg producing.

Production is scheduled to start on Elysium in July.

Elysium was released August 9th, 2013.
