Actress Emily Blunt is the latest to board Rian Johnson's time-travel movie Looper, according to Variety. The news was first rumored in a tweet by Production Weekly yesterday, which was confirmed today.

The movie centers on a future where a group of hitmen named Loopers are sent back in time to kill those who have committed serious crimes in the future. Once they die in the past, the crime in the future ceases to happen. Emily Blunt will portray a single mother whose son becomes a target, and she goes to great lengths to protect him.

Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt have already signed onto the project and our earlier report indicates that they will both be playing the same characters, but in different time periods.

Rian Johnson (Brick, The Brothers Bloom) is directing from his own original script. Production will begin in January on location in Louisiana.
