Now that Chris Evans is officiallyThe First Avenger: Captain America, casting has turned to some of the female roles in the film. The Los Angeles Times is reporting that Marvel Studios has made an offer to Emily Blunt for the female lead in The First Avenger: Captain America.

It was said the role would be that of the title character's girlfriend, who is believed to be named Peggy Carter. While Marvel Studios has made an offer to Blunt, the site reports that she is close to signing to different projects and will turn down the offer.

The site is also reporting that the two other candidates on the studio's short list are actresses Keira Knightley and Alice Eve. We'll be sure to keep you posted with any and all updates surrounding The First Avenger: Captain America as soon as we have more information.
