The Amazing Spider-Man star Emma Stone is returning for the sequel The Amazing Spider-Man 2 as Gwen Stacy, and this time she will have to compete against Mary Jane Watson, played by Shailene Woodley, for Peter Parker's affections.
"I think I'm ready, yeah!"
Back in October, we revealed that the inclusion of Mary Jane Watson will pave the way for Gwen Stacy's iconic death scene, though no one is sure if it will happened at the end of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 or at the start of The Amazing Spider-Man 3. When Emma Stone was told that Gwen Stacy must die at some point, she played coy with the press, joking about her character's impending demise.
She then talked about her first meeting with Shailene Woodley.
"She's really cool. I went to dinner with her. She's really, really nice. She's a very cool girl.".
Will Gwen Stacy be alive at the end of The Amazing Spider-Man 2? We'll have to wait until next summer to find out. Will Emma Stone reveal more than twenty-five words about her character in the near future? Not likely.
