Harry Potter producer David Heyman is reteaming with one of the stars of that franchise, Emma Watson, to bring the acclaimed novel series Queen of the Tearling to the screen.

Warner Bros. will distribute the fantasy adventure, described as a female Game of Thrones, with Emma Watson set to headline this story about a malevolent Red Queen who holds considerable power in the far off future, three centuries after an environmental catastrophe throws the world into chaos. Erika Johansen wrote the fantasy novel trilogy upon which the screenplay will be based.

Emma Watson is set to play the 19-year old princess Kelsea Glynn, who must reclaim her deceased mother's throne and restore her kingdom.

A writer and director are currently being sought out for Queen of the Tearling. Emma Watson is also set to executive produce. No production start date has been announced at this time.
