Eric Bana will be playing the villain Nero in the new Star Trek movie for Lost creator and Cloverfield producer J.J. Abrams. According to The Herald Sun, Bana described the role as a cameo, "It's just a great character, it's J.J. Abrams. It's a really well written script, great part. Couldn't say no. I don't actually look at the size of parts ever."

J.J. Abrams will direct the highly anticipated Star Trek franchise, which will star Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Zachary Quinto, Leonard Nimoy, Chris Pine, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Winona Ryder, Bruce Greenwood, Rachel Nichols, Jennifer Morrison, Clifton Collins Jr., Tyler Perry, and Jimmy Bennett.

Star Trek is scheduled to hit theaters December 25th.
