The following contains minor spoilers for lesser-known Stars Wars titles.
Over the years, more Star Wars Inquisitors have appeared in the galaxy far, far, away. Now, there is a full arrangement of these dark Force-wielders that any Star Wars writer or fan can explore. Obi-Wan Kenobi from Disney+ has already given fans a great look at the Inquisitors for the first time in live action. They are indeed a deadly force to be reckoned with. Every episode is available on the popular streaming service. However, anyone just now starting the series may want to brush up on some of these lesser-known characters.
Emperor Palpatine organized the Inquisitors specifically to hunt down the remaining Force-wielders throughout the galaxy. Some former Jedi joined by choice, while others were tortured until they accepted their new roles. Regardless of how they joined or earned their place in the ranks, every Inquisitor survived rigorous training under Darth Vader himself. They are technically not "Sith Lords," (thanks to the rule that only two Sith may be alive at one time) and Inquisitors remain underrated characters in Star Wars, but they are just as big of a threat to the remaining Jedi. Here is a list of all the inquisitors we have encountered so far and what makes each one unique.

Grand Inquisitor
As is implied by his title, the Grand Inquisitor is the highest-ranking Inquisitor. He earned this rank by being the best trained and most powerful of all the Dark Jedi under Palatine's command. In Star Wars: Rebels, the Grand Inquisitor (played by Jason Isaacs) hunted Jedi Kanan Jurras and his apprentice Ezra Bridger. The Inquisitor even successfully captured Kanan for a time. However, Kanan's rag-tag team quickly rescued him, and the Jedi defeated the Grand Inquisitor in a duel. Kanan spared the Grand Inquisitor's life, but at that point, the Inquisitor chose to fall to his death rather than face the wrath of Darth Vader.
The Grand Inquisitor made his live-action debut in Obi-Wan Kenobi played by Rupert Friend. His portrayal was every bit as cold and chilling as in Rebels, but fans were angered when the character seemed to be killed by Reva, breaking canon. However, they saw later on that their favorite servant to the dark lord was alive and well. Perhaps this won’t be the last we see of this dastardly villain as the Star Wars universe is ever expanding.
Second Sister
The Second Sister’s first official appearance came in Darth Vader: Dark Lord of the Sith #19 by Charles Soule and Giuseppe Camuncoli, but the story mainly focuses on the genesis of Vader and the earlier days of the Inquisitors. However, Second Sister is the main antagonist in Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, and she has one of the most detailed character arcs of all the Inquisitors. Before the fall of the Jedi, she and her master survived Order 66 and successfully avoided the Empire for a time. Eventually, the Second Sister's master was captured and tortured into giving up his apprentice’s location.
Having been discovered, the Second Sister was then ruthlessly tortured herself until she fell to the dark side. Within the game, the Second Sister eventually found the Jedi Cal Kestis (who traveled with the Inquisitor's former master) and stole his Holocron, a device that contained information about all the galaxy's force-sensitive younglings. Cal and the Second Sister's master would confront her again and manage to turn her back to the light side. Unfortunately, Darth Vader arrived and immediately killed the Second Sister for her failure and betrayal.
Third Sister – Reva Sevander
Reva had a pivotal role in the new Obi-Wan Kenobi series. As a member of the Inquisitors, she was depicted as being tightly wound and impulsive. She was hunting Obi-Wan Kenobi specifically and, in a plot to force him out of hiding, hires a bounty hunter to kidnap Princess Leia. Her plan was successful. She sets out to capture Obi-Wan who arrives at the holding facility to retrieve the princess. Reva then betrayed the Grand Inquisitor to assume his position. It is later revealed that her obsession with Obi-Wan was all a part of a plan to gain revenge against Darth Vader for the slaying of her class of Jedi younglings when she was a child. Unfortunately, Vader was aware of this the whole time and easily defeated her in battle. Reva became the very thing she hated to get revenge.
In a final attempt at completing her plan, she kidnaped a young Luke Skywalker and was ready to kill him, but after remembering her friends' massacre, she decided to return him to his home instead. Later Obi-Wan congratulates her on successfully turning away from the dark side. It’s unknown if fans will see Reva again, but she is still alive within the universe. She could turn up again in a future Star Wars property, should Disney choose to continue her story.
Fourth Sister
The Fourth Sister primarily remains a mystery. She is briefly mentioned in the comic book series Star Wars Adventures: Return to Vader's Castle. An alliance commander uses the Fourth Sister's armor to sneak into Darth Vader's castle. It's unknown how the commander obtained the Fourth Sister's armor or what the Inquisitor's specialty is. Almost everything about her story has yet to be explored.
While hunting Obi-Wan on the planet Daiyu in the Disney+ series, following Reva’s having Leia kidnapped, The Fourth Sister worked with the Grand Inquisitor to search for the former Jedi. She's seen searching amongst civilians for her target but is unsuccessful. Later, she is with Darth Vader on the planet Mapuzo as he terrorizes innocent civilians to draw out his former master. The Fourth Sister is tasked with searching the entire planet following Vader’s brief duel with Obi-Wan.
Fifth Brother
Leadership originally assigned the Fifth Brother to target Eeth Koth, but later the Fifth Brother also helped hunt Kanan Jarrus and Ezra Bridger. He is known for his strength and his direct fighting style. At times, he clashed with the other Inquisitors' more tactical fighting approaches; the Seventh Sister in particular once scolded him for trying to kill Ezra as the Oadawan wandered off alone. Instead, she wanted to use the Padawan as bait to hunt his masters. Seeing as how the Inquisitors failed to defeat the united Jedi, the Fifth Brother's idea to pick them off one at a time might have been more successful.
In Obi-Wan Kenobi, he is on Tatooine with Reva and the Grand Inquisitor hunting a Jedi and scolds Reva for her impulsiveness. He later accompanies his comrades to Daiyu following Leia Organa's kidnapping. Fifth Brother is ordered by the Grand Inquisitor to secure the city in the hunt for Kenobi and the Princess. Later, following Reva’s betrayal of the Grand Inquisitor, she and Fifth Brother argue over the line of succession, with Fifth proclaiming his right to the promotion before Reva declares Vader himself put her in charge of the hunt. On hearing this, the Fifth Brother has no choice but to accept. The last time he is seen, he is sent by Vader to end the growing resistance in the Lothal system.
Sixth Brother
From Darth Vader's perspective, the Sixth Brother had trouble forgetting his Jedi training. Vader cut off the Sixth brother's arm during training to fix this problem and teach the Sixth Brother to fight more defensively. The Sixth Brother proved his newfound ruthlessness by betraying the Ninth Sister to ensure his own escape during a mission.
Later, he ran into beloved Star Wars character Ahsoka Tano while investigating a force-sensitive child. Ahsoka seemed like easy pickings without her lightsaber but proved to still be a powerful threat. Ahsoka managed to defeat the Sixth Brother by summoning the crystals from his lightsaber, and the Sixth Brother and his lightsaber exploded in the process, Ahsoka blanching his crystals to use in her own new lightsaber.
Seventh Sister

Like all of the Inquisitors, she once held a place within the Jedi order before Order 66. Afterward, she was inducted into the sinister group of hunters and trained by Darth Vader himself. She would become a vital commander within the ranks of the Galactic Empire and was ambitious. Following the death of the Grand Inquisitor, she even had hopes of replacing him.
The Seventh Sister was sent to hunt Ashoka Tano. As Ashoka became allies with Kanan and Ezra, the Seventh Sister worked closely with the Fifth Brother and even the Eighth Brother to hunt their targets (especially when they all united on Malachor). The Seventh Sister enjoyed hunting Jedi, but never defeated Ashoka. When they fought, Ashoka used her superior force skills to shut off the Seventh Sister's lightsaber. Later on, Darth Maul ruthlessly killed her alongside her peers.
Eighth Brother
The Eighth Brother remained more loyal to Palpatine than Darth Vader, even after Palpatine gave Vader command over the inquisitors. According to CBR, the Eighth Brother also has a unique hilt that shoots out lightsaber blades. The Eighth Brother was assigned to hunt Darth Maul, but failed; he almost escaped the fight by flying away using the helicopter function of his lightsaber. However, his lightsaber malfunctioned, and he presumably fell to his death.
Ninth Sister
The Ninth Sister survived the Sixth Brother's betrayal but lost her leg in the process. She was chosen to become an inquisitor for her strong connections with people. After torture and falling to the dark side, she used those connections for interrogation and torture rather than healing and relationships. The Ninth Sister fell off a ledge on Kashyyyk and presumably died after losing a duel with Cal Kestis in Jedi Fallen Order. However, the Ninth Sister has surprised us with her survival skills before, so it's always possible that we will see her again.
Tenth Brother
Before he was an inquisitor, Jedi Prosset Dibbs became disillusioned with the Jedi Order during a mission with Jedi Master Mace Windu; Dibbs attacked Windu but failed to kill him. Windu pleaded with the council on Dibbs behalf, and Dibbs was allowed to leave the Jedi order. His hate for the Jedi eventually caused him to willingly join the Inquisitors. During a mission, he convinced purge troopers to execute Order 66 and fire on the Jedi, but then the purge troopers also fired on the tenth brother and killed him in the process.
