‘Evil Dead 2’ Remake and ‘Army of Darkness 2’ Will Lead to ‘Evil Dead 7’!

Evil Dead 7 will be a crossover between Army of Darkness 2 and the new remakeEvil Dead was in full force at WonderCon 2013 this afternoon, with director Fede Alvarez joining stars Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Jessica Lucas, Lou Taylor Pucci and executive producer (original star) Bruce Campbell on stage for a look at some very gory footage from the film.

During the Q&A presentation, Fede Alvarez once again confirmed that Evil Dead 2 is moving forward fast, news he announced at this year's SXSW festival, where Evil Dead was met with copious amounts of praise. He didn't reveal any new details, but he did say he has 'big plans' for this franchise. He then dropped a bombshell: Evil Dead 2 and the recently announced Army of Darkness 2 will eventually crossover for the ultimate cult horror movie Evil Dead 7.

At this time, Sam Raimi and his brother Ivan Raimi are working on the screenplay for Army of Darkness 2, which will continue the story of Ash as seen in the original The Evil Dead from 1981. While Fede Alvarez might have been joking, he seemed serious when he said he plans to join both his new franchise together with Sam Raimi's old franchise.

Will this ever happen? Maybe. But it will be a long way off.

Evil Dead was released April 5th, 2013.

Are they going to combine the remakes into one big time line? Please don't... As good as the original series is, just end it. Once there's a remake, it's a stupid idea to try to rehash the original series. Just do an Evil Dead 2 remake, and make it serious (keeping the same theme UNLIKE the original Evil Dead 2) and maybe continue sequels after that, if the story seems promising. But leave the original series alone. I don't even understand what information this article is trying to convey.

And for those of you who are still going on and on about this ruining the originals, actually wait until you see the movie. Most early reviews I've seen have been pretty positive and this was produced BY BRUCE CAMPBELL AND SAM RAIMI!!!!

I thought it was supposed to be Evil Dead 4. WTF?! @thesymbiote thanks for that, but I'm still confused.

Raimi's thunder just got stolen. I am so sick of these massive amounts of sequels of originally independant, cherished movies. Evil Dead will be over done and thinned out so bad, it will no longer be that rare gem of a franchise we love so much. Damn it all to Hell. I have to go throw up now. Excuse me.

At least the franchise isn't as convoluted like the Fast and the Furious where it goes:

1.The Fast and the Furious (1st movie)

                            2. 2 Fast 2 Furious (2nd movie)

                            3. Fast and Furious (4th movie)

                            4. Fast Five (5th movie)

                            5. Fast and Furious Six (6th movie)

                            6. The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (3rd movie)

                            7. 'Furious Seven' (7th movie)

                                I'm so excited

So lets get this straight remake 1,2 will be films 4,5.

Army of Darkness 2 is really number 6.

Since time travel has been involved in the first Army of Darkness, a paradox has happened, altering the current time line hence the ending of part 3.

4,5 which is the reboot will be featured in that alternate universe. 6 is now the alternate universe with Billy 'Ash' as he tries to figure out what has happened. 7th will team up Billy 'Ash' and the girl as they battle the undead.

'grins' I'm so ready for this.

@thesymbiote@skywise Sounds interesting and weird at the same time, they haven't made Evil Dead 2(remake) or Evil Dead 4,5,6, sounds like they have a big story to tell and that's very interesting, a Crossover, that gives fans of the original and fans of the remake something to think about, myself included. I'll wait to see the remake, this week.

I don't believe it will be called Evil Dead 7, it probably be a different name. It's just that it will be the 7th Evil Dead film
