Ewan McGregor Replaces Bradley Cooper in ‘Jane Got a Gun’

Ewan McGregor replaces Bradley Cooper in Jane Got a GunEwan McGregor has replaced Bradley Cooper in Gavin O'Connor's upcoming drama Jane Got a Gun. We reported last week that Bradley Cooper had to depart the project after the Boston bombings delayed production on the currently shooting American Hustle, which threw his schedule into disarray.

The story centers on Jane (Natalie Portman) whose outlaw husband (Noah Emmerich) returns home barely alive after taking eight bullets. She reluctantly recruits a former lover (Joel Edgerton) to defend their property as her husband's gang comes to finish him off. Ewan McGregor will be taking on the role of the villain and leader of this outlaw gang.

Gavin O'Connor is directing from a script written by Brian Duffield and Anthony Tambakis. The project originally had Lynne Ramsay directing with Jude Law and Michael Fassbender starring.

Production is currently taking place in New Mexico.

Jane Got a Gun comes to theaters September 4th, 2015.
