Anthony Hopkins, venerated actor of screen and stage, has written and directed one of the trippiest films I've ever seen. Slipstream is a mind-bending ride through a dying man's psyche, or at least that's what I thought it was about. Hopkins stars alongside an all-star cast of Hollywood regulars, including John Turturro, Christian Slater, Camryn Manheim, Jeffrey Tambor, and Michael Clarke Duncan to name a few. Hopkins plays screenwriter Felix Bonhoeffer. His life is literally flashing before his eyes. Events swirl around his latest film project which is falling into chaos at a desert shoot. This is avant-garde filmmaking to the hilt. Mr. Hopkins was really gracious during our interview. Gasp, he actually took the time to engage in small talk before getting in front of the camera. This is a rare occurrence, so I tip my hat to the English gentleman for bestowing some courtesy on a lowly web writer.
