Legendary actor Robert Duvall won his Oscar Award for best actor in 1984 for his work on the film Tender Mercies, where he played an alcoholic, fallen country singer on the road to redemption. So it shouldn't be any surprise that the actor has now produced a new film called Crazy Heart, opening in theaters on December 16th, about an alcoholic, fallen country singer on the road to redemption. This time however, the actor took a supporting role in the film and let fellow veteran actor, Jeff Bridges play the pivotal part. We recently had the opportunity to sit down with legendary producer/actor Robert Duvall along with the film's stars Jeff Bridges and Maggie Gyllenhaal to discuss the music, acting and message of this exciting new film. Four-time Academy Award nominee Jeff Bridges stars as the richly comic, semi-tragic romantic anti-hero Bad Blake in the debut feature film Crazy Heart from writer-director Scott Cooper. Bad Blake is a broken-down, hard-living country music singer who's had way too many marriages, far too many years on the road and one too many drinks way too many times. And yet, Bad can't help but reach for salvation with the help of Jean (Maggie Gyllenhaal), a journalist who discovers the real man behind the musician. As he struggles down the road of redemption, Blake learns the hard way just how tough life can be on one man's crazy heart. Starring Jeff Bridges, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Robert Duvall and Colin Farrell, directed by Scott Cooper, Crazy Heart opens in theaters on December 16th.
