The 3D theater experience has been building over the last few years, and now at long last, we get a big-budget live action extravaganza in the awesome Real 3D. Gone are the clunky glasses and eye-straining effects. Journey to the Center of the Earth is an incredibly immersive experience, filled with groundbreaking 3D effects that amaze in every scene. It also helps that the movie is pretty entertaining without the bells and whistles. Brendan Fraser and Josh Hutcherson star with Icelandic newcomer Anita Briem in a modern day interpretation of the Jules Verne classic. I hate to sound like processed cheese, but it really is a film the entire family can enjoy. Comic book fare has become damn gloomy these days, so it's great to be whisked away by a fun 3D adventure.

Brendan Fraser never gets any respect for being a versatile actor. He can deftly play the action hero, while still having the chops to perform opposite the likes of Michael Caine (The Quiet American) and Ian McKellan (Gods and Monsters). The guy has this Harrison Ford-esque quality that makes him likeable on screen. He's pretty cool off screen as well. Waxing poetic in our interview about the dawn of the 3D age. Check out our full cast interview featurette below with actors Brendan Fraser, Josh Hutcherson, Anita Briem, and director Eric Brevig.

Journey to the Center of the Earth hits theaters everywhere July 11th!
