According Ain't It Cool News, Fanboys might be undergoing some serious changes.

The site states that on Tuesday and Wednesday in Burbank, two versions of the film will be screened and the audience decide which will prevail.

The film has been turned over to Judd Apatow's camp and, apparently, they've been doing reshoots for the past few weeks and one of the big things they're changing is the main plot point.

Originally, the film was to be about a group of kids who travel to Skywalker Ranch to steal a copy of Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace before it was released in theaters. They did this so their friend who was dying of cancer could see it, since he wouldn't live to see it in the theaters. Now it seems that the entire cancer sub-plot has been axed - according to Harry at AICN, by Harvey Weinstein, not Apatow himself.

None of this has been confirmed as of yet, and we'll keep you posted if more updates surface.
