Another classic TV series will be getting remade, but with a reality twist. According to Variety, the classic 1978 series Fantasy Island is being remade as a reality show.

Reality guru Mark Burnett will produce the series for Sony Pictures Television and the show will see 12 contestants vying to be their own Mr. or Mrs. Roarke, as originally portrayed by Ricardo Montalban. The contestants will greet guests in a resort setting and will be judged by their abilities to make the guests "dreams come true," much like Montalban's Roarke did in the fictional TV series. The guests will be rating the contestants each week and one contestant will be banished from the island each week.

Burnett and Sony TV don't have a deal with a network in place as of yet, but are currently shopping the series around. No production schedule has been determined as of yet as well.
