‘Fast & Furious 7’ Confirmed for a Summer 2014 Release Date

Fast & Furious 7 will hit theaters next summerFast & Furious 6 star Vin Diesel announced at CinemaCon in Las Vegas today that Fast & Furious 7 will hit theaters on July 11, 2014. As of now, there are no movies currently occupying that release slot, although it falls right between Disney's Maleficent on July 2 and 20th Century Fox's X-Men: Days of Future Past on July 18.

We reported earlier this month that James Wan is in negotiations to direct, just one week after Justin Lin dropped out, citing a rushed production schedule. The sequel is on track to begin shooting this August, just a few months after Fast & Furious 6 opens in theaters nationwide May 24.

Vin Diesel and Paul Walker are likely returning, although no other cast members have been confirmed.

Furious 7 was released April 3rd, 2015.

Just like the title, this franchise slid through fast, and I'm gonna be furious when it ends next summer, lame pun, I know, but we all have our moments. I remember when I was just a kid and the first one came out, I went to the theaters to see the 2nd one, then the 3rd one came out, and after seeing that one, everybody wanted more 'cause of the way it ended, but the 4th one didn't turn out exactly the way we all planned, but it was still better than Tokyo Drift. Ever since then I saw that they were turning these movies into a huge blockbuster hit franchise, then they announced after the 5th one came out how many more there was gonna be before it ends. Dom, Brian, we had a good run, but it seems like it may be time to cross the finish line and drive home.

The studio should learn from their own franchise title....TOO FAST AND TOO FURIOUS.

It really won't be all that rushed because part 7 was already written with part6, thats why there were rumors of them shooting them back-to-back, also there's something that happens at the end that connects well with part 7, I'm not going to spoil what I've heard, but Fast & Furious 7 villain is going to be awesome.

@felipe-11 They've always said that the 7th will be their last movie. They said that after Fast Five. Something long the lines of "we'll shoot 6 and 7 our last two in the franchise back to to back."

They are rushing the ending of this franchise. We can wait until 2015 for the next one, there's no need to rush things, unless 7 is a direct sequel to 6, thus concluding the franchise. I love the fast and the furious franchise, but everything that has a beginning has an end.

It may actually not be that rushed since they probably already have it written (remember, these were originally planned to be shot back-to-back).

@ghostman Where'd you hear it's the last one?

Good news: This will be the final movie.

Bad news: They better start production on this soon or like @moviegeek said, feels too "rushed" for me.

Way too soon. It's a shame that they're going to end this with a lacking product.
