Filming has been under way on Fast and Furious 8 since the end of April, when the action sequel made history by becoming the first major studio movie to film in Cuba in more than 50 years. Ever since filming started, fans have gotten to see weekly glimpses from the set in new "Fast Friday" videos, while star Dwayne Johnson has been regularly posting videos and photos from the set. Yesterday, the actor took some time out of his schedule to post an intriguing update on social media, where he calls out some of his male co-stars in the movie.
The Rock's Facebook post doesn't identify any specific male actors, adding that some of his male co-stars have been "stand up men and true professionals," although others certainly have not. The post came as quite the surprise to his fans, since he's well known for his extremely positive outlook. But it seems something happened on set that led him to take his co-stars to task. Here's Dwayne Johnson's full Facebook post below, where he reveals that this is his last week of shooting Fast and Furious 8.
"This is my final week of shooting Fast & Furious 8. There's no other franchise that gets my blood boiling more than this one. An incredible hard working crew. Universal Studios Entertainment has been great partners as well. My female co-stars are always amazing and I love 'em. My male co-stars however are a different story. Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don't. The ones that don't are too chicken shit to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses. When you watch this movie next April and it seems like I'm not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling - you're right. Bottom line is it'll play great for the movie and fits this Hobbs character that's embedded in my DNA extremely well. The producer in me is happy about this part. Final week on FAST 8 and I will finish strong. #IcemanCometh #F8 #ZeroToleranceForCandyAsses"
The actor's post comes with a brief video, which you can see below, where he's seen throwing a prison guard into the top of a doorway. While we don't know for sure, this scene is likely part of the prison riot sequence that we have scene in videos and photos from the set. Still, regardless of where in the movie this scene comes from, many fans will surely be wondering which of Dwayne Johnson's male co-stars he was referring to in this post.
If you scroll through some of the 1,500 comments on this post left by fans, many have speculated that Dwayne Johnson is referring to Scott Eastwood, one of the new additions to the cast in Fast 8. The young actor, who is also the son of Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood, recently gave an interview in Esquire where he disparaged the Fast & Furious 8 cast for all going to their trailers after takes. Scott apparently likes to stick around after takes and try to learn from the crew, a habit he picked up from his father. There is also talk that The Rock is subtly calling out Vin Diesel, who is known to be somewhat difficul on set. There is a 2014 report that claims Furious 7 was held up because of Vin Diesel's tendancy to sit in his trailer and make people wait hours before he would show up on set. Of course, we don't know for sure if Scott Eastwood is the co-star Dwayne Johnson is referring to, or if it is Vin Diesel, but you can take a look at The Rock's post in full below, along with a brief video from the set.
