With Fast and Furious 8 currently in production, the franchise's social media pages has started a tradition known as #FastFridays, where they offer fans a new sneak peek at this highly-anticipated sequel. Last week, the production shared a new behind-the-scenes video from their shoot in Cuba, featuring stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez and many more. #FastFridays continues today, with our first look at one of the new casting additions to the franchise, Oscar winner Charlize Theron as the villain Cipher.

The photo, which was posted to the Fast & Furious Twitter page, reveals that Cipher is a big fan of Metallica, as she's seen wearing a shirt from the heavy metal band. She is also quite well-armed, as this photo also showcases a rack of machine guns. Unfortunately, we don't have many details about the character herself, but hopefully we'll learn more as production continues.

Vin Diesel returns as franchise mainstay Dominic Torreto, along with Dwayne Johnson as Hobbs, Jason Statham as Deckard Shaw, Michelle Rodriguez as Leti, Tyrese Gibson as Roman Pearce, Ludacris as Tej Parker and Lucas Black as Sean Boswell. Along with Charlize Theron, the franchise welcomes other newcomers such as Scott Eastwood and Game of Thrones star Kristofer Hivju, with Kurt Russell reprising his role from Furious 7 as Mr. Nobody. There have also been rumors that Eva Mendes will return as her 2 Fast 2 Furious character, Customs Agent Monica Fuentes, but that has yet to be confirmed.

Fast 8 will shoot the bulk of its scenes in New York City and Atlanta, though, like the previous movies, this sequel will truly be another international affair. Production already took place earlier this year in Iceland, where the crew pulled off what is believed to be the largest explosion in the country's history. Unfortunately, a tragic accident also happened in Iceland, when an iceberg prop was sent flying by gale force winds, striking and killing a local horse. Filming is also expected to take place in Russia on Fast & Furious 8, but we don't have any details about that shoot quite yet.

We also have another behind-the-scenes video that was posted from the Cuba set last week, as production on Fast & Furious 8 continues. Universal Pictures will release Fast & Furious 8 in theaters nationwide on April 14, 2017, with the sequel currently holding that date all to itself. It will debut a week after Warner Bros.' comedy remake Going In Style and Sony's Smurfs: The Lost Village. While we wait for more details on this high-octane sequel, take a look at the new photo with Charlize Theron's Cipher, along with a behind-the-scenes video from Cuba.
