‘Fast & Furious’ Luke Hobbs Spin-Off in the Works Says Dwayne Johnson

Dwayne Johnson may star in a Fast & Furious 6 spin-off centering on Luke HobbsDwayne Johnson revealed during a recent interview that Fast & Furious 6 producers are talking about a stand alone movie focusing on his character, Luke Hobbs. Here's what the actor had to say about the potential spin-off, which might debut between Fast & Furious 6 and Fast & Furious 7.

"Possibly after this one or after the next one, possibly. I'm not quite too sure. I know that's the goal and we continue to build that character and have him take shape. But yes, I can't wait."

2011's Fast Five introduced Dwayne Johnson to the franchise as Luke Hobbs, a DSS Agent who goes after Dom (Vin Diesel), Brian (Paul Walker), and the rest of the gang. In this summer's Fast & Furious 6, Hobbs recruits them to go after a highly-trained group of mercenaries, lead by Owen Shaw (Luke Evans) and the thought-to-be-dead Letty (Michelle Rodriguez), in exchange for full pardons so they can return back home to the United States.

Fast & Furious 6 was released May 24th, 2013.

I could see it happening. He had to somehow develop that reputation for getting the "bad guy" that was displayed in Fast Five. And the Fast Five thing could have just been his latest case. They can do it. They just gotta do it right!

@mka47 It stands to reason that those who love FF6 will "need" a FF7.

For this character I can see it, there's already enough character and story possibility with the world his character inhabits, something more along the lines of international manhunt type action movies, ala Born Franchise but with the hunter as the good guy and him being that, I could like that, they would need a compelling villain though

                        It could work, I guess.

So he is making a sort of Scorpion King/Mummy thing going on with The Fast and The Furious.
