Felicity Jones is in early negotiations to join Universal's upcoming comedic take on Shakespeare's classic story Romeo and Juliet entitled Rosaline.

The film is set in the period of the play and uses modern language. It is being told from the viewpoint of Rosaline, Romeo's first flame. She gets dumped by him for his cousin Juliet. The project is based on a novel by Rebecca Serle titled When You Were Mine.

Alex Timbers is directing from a script by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber. Shawn Levy, Billy Rosenberg, Dan Cohen will be producing. No production schedule has been released.
