Get your first look at Radha Mitchell in Silent Hill: Revelation 3D! Take a look. Mitchell

Davis Films producer Samuel Hadida and Don Carmody announced today that the stars of Silent Hill, Radha Mitchell (The Crazies, Surrogates), Sean Bean (HBO's upcoming series Game of Thrones, Percy Jackson & the Olympians: Lightning Thief, Lord of the Rings), and Deborah Kara Unger (Shake Hands with the Devil, 88 Minutes) will return to join Adelaide Clemens (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Vampire, Mad Max: Fury Road) and Kit Harington (Game of Thrones) on Silent Hill: Revelation 3D.

Filming in Toronto, Silent Hill: Revelation 3D is based on a screenplay by director Michael J. Bassett (Solomon Kane, Deathwatch), who is joined by cinematographer Maxime Alexandre (The Crazies, Mirrors, The Hills Have Eyes), production designer Alicia Keywan (The Haunting in Connecticut, The Messengers), costume designer Wendy Partridge (Silent Hill, Hellboy, Underworld) and edited by Michele Conroy (Vincenzo Natali's Splice).

International sales are being handled by Lionsgate.

Bassett said: "It wouldn't be the same without some of the original Silent Hill cast. Sean, Radha and Deborah's return will certainly thrill fans of the franchise and compliment Revelations stars Adelaide and Kit."

Alexandre added: "With the most advanced technology available, in particular the lighter, smaller and more flexible 3D Red Epic, we are able to take audiences deeper in the world of Silent Hill than they ever dreamed possible. Devotees will finally be able to enter this realm along side of Heather, Vincent, Harry and Rose and experience the psychological horror and the fear of the unknown with them."

Hadida and Carmody most recently produced Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D starring Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, and Wentworth Miller. Past collaborations include Resident Evil: Apocalypse and the earlier Silent Hill.

Silent Hill: Revelation 3D is based on the acclaimed survival horror videogame franchise by Konami and is the sequel to Hadida and Carmody's earlier Silent Hill directed by Christophe Gans. For years, Heather Mason (Clemens) and her father have been on the run, always one step ahead of dangerous forces that she doesn't fully understand. Now on the eve of her 18th birthday, plagued by terrifying nightmares and the disappearance of her father, Heather discovers she's not who she thinks she is. The revelation leads her deeper into a demonic world that threatens to trap her in Silent Hill forever.

Silent Hill: Revelation 3D was released October 26th, 2012.

Just the idea of there being a sequel (and in 3D) scares me.

The first movie was a classic, I just hope the second will keep up the pace.

I loved the first movie and Gans was a perfect choice to convey the beauty and horror of Silent Hill but that movie was so much like the game....people walking from one room to the next with flash lights and there was so much of that that i feel it took away from the plot. Not to mention the tacked on side story with Sean Bean went absolutly nowhere.

I am hoping that in this installment they can keep the fans happy while moving the plot along at a brisker pace.

@gandoff speaking of tacked on Sean bean: i think they put those sequences into the film beacuse all of the main characters are women and the studio felt they needd some male-ness to balance things out.

I wish Gans were coming back but as it stands i will definatly be seeing this. I love REs Evil as a game but the movies are terrible. However the SH movie was much more accurate to not only the gameplay style (which bogged it down IMO) but he gave the movie a very unique and unusual look and feel.

          crosses fingers.

Does anyone eles find the fact the description of the movie, is in what happens in that film, and what leads up to the new film, was completly diffrent then the story in the first film? Father and duaghter combo in the games, and the description of the new movie, but the first film was about a father hunting for his wife and duaghter, yet mostly was focused on the mother and duaghter.

I like that Radha Mitchell and Sean Bean came back, I give credit for continuity at least. That image above is nice and decrepit looking, too.

                            Radha Mitchell rocks

but come on guys, get rid of Sean Bean!

his scenes from the last movie were really jarring and ruined the mood

sounds fun. the effects in the first one were top notch so im hoping this one will stand up to that. but since its in 3D (which i hate) that may cause a problem. especially since the same people that did RE: AFTERLIFE, are doing this. and that film was sh*t. but i'll remain optimistic for now.....

I'll like this. The first Silent Hill had some cool elements to it. Kinda underground...
