Last week, The Flash star Victor Garber revealed that both his character, Dr. Martin Stein, and Robbie Amell's Ronnie Raymond, will be back for the Season 2 premiere. Robbie Amell confirmed to us earlier this week that he will be back on The Flash next season, but he wouldn't reveal if his character is joining Dr. Stein on the CW spinoff DC's Legends of Tomorrow, which debuts in midseason next year. Since both Martin Stein and Ronnie Raymond need to collectively work together to become Firestorm, many have wondered how this dynamic will change, since Victor Garber is confirmed to star in the spinoff and Robbie Amell is not. The actor teases in a recent interview that Season 2 may feature some new Firestorm powers from Ronnie. Here's what the actor had to say, revealing that there was actually a scene in The Flash Season 1 finale that addressed matter manipulation, but it was cut out:

"The sad thing is there was a moment in the finale that had to be cut out - just because it was such a massive episode and it didn't actually have anything to do with plot - where they introduced matter manipulation. There's a scene where Danielle (Panabaker)'s character is checking my temperature and giving me the once-over. I call Victor in the room and we merge, and I turn her thermometer into a daffodil. It was just like a really nice, sweet way of showing... because she's asking if we're going to be OK, and I'm like, 'Actually, we're getting pretty good at this whole Firestorm thing.' And we merge without even missing a beat and turn that into a flower. It was a nice moment, but ultimately it just didn't hold any bearing on the plot. So, matter manipulation I'm sure will be reintroduced, or maybe it will be available on the DVD director's cut of the episode. But there's so much they can do with this character. My biggest fear with the character was that he was too powerful. I think that sometimes that can be an issue. I feel like that's the only problem I ever have with the Superman comic book, is other than kryptonite, how do you stop this guy? But they've done an unbelievable job."

When both characters merged to form Firestorm in Season 1, Raymond controlled the body while Stein was essentially a voice in his mind. We know that both characters will appear in The Flash Season 2 premiere, but it remains unclear how often both characters will be together after that, with Stein moving to DC's Legends of Tomorrow and Raymond staying on The Flash. It's possible that the premiere could set something up that would allow the pair to have such a strong connection that they don't need to be near one another to become Firestorm. It should also be noted that we don't even know where DC's Legends of Tomorrow is actually set, since it includes characters from both Arrow's Starling City and The Flash's Central City, so it's possible that Stein and Raymond could be close enough to meet up every now and then to become Firestorm. What do you think about these new details?
