Earlier this month, The CW released an extended trailer that gave fans their first look at some of the new characters who will be popping up in Season 2 of The Flash. Today, the network has released a new poster, which shows Central City's own Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) giving the villains of his hometown a look that shows he plans on cleaning up the streets. The poster also shows smoke coming off of his iconic costume, which we'll certainly see more of this season with a slew of enemies coming to town.

Following the defeat of Barry Allen's arch-nemesis Eobard Thawne (aka Reverse Flash), Team Flash quickly turned their attention to the singularity swirling high above Central City, which fans last saw consuming everything in its path. Armed with the heart of a hero and the ability to move at super speeds, Barry charged into the eye of the singularity, but will he actually be able to save his city from impending doom? Barry will be put to the test right away in the next month's season premiere, which will feature the debut of a new villain.

Atom Smasher (Adam Copeland) will make his debut in the Season 2 premiere episode titled The Man Who Saved Central City, airing Tuesday, October 6 at 8 PM ET on The CW. The second episode, entitled Flash of Two Worlds, will introduce fans to this season's main villain, Zoom, voiced by Tony Todd, and it is also believed that Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears) will debut in this episode as well. The show's executive producers also confirmed at Comic-Con that Gorilla Grodd will be back, along with the villainous Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) and his sister, the Golden Glider (Peyton List).

Other characters debuting this season are Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West, Michael Ironside playing Lewis Snart, Shantel VanSanten as Patty Spivot, Violett Beane as Jesse Quick and Demore Barnes as Henry Hewitt. The show will also feature two characters from the midseason series DC's Legends of Tomorrow, Falk Hentschel's Hawkman and Casper Crump's Vandall Savage. It hasn't been confirmed exactly when these characters will debut yet, but we'll be sure to keep you posted as soon as we have confirmation.

Tom Cavanagh will be back as Harrison Wells/Reverse Flash, but the producers have already confirmed that he won't be interacting with Barry Allen, since he was sent away to Earth-2 in the season finale. With less than one month left until The Flash returns to the small screen, what other characters from the DC Comics do you hope will be announced for this upcoming season?
