A new report suggests that Flashpoint will begin production later this year and might reveal the villains in the movie as well. There's been a lot of talk surrounding the Flashpoint movie as of late, especially since it was announced that Spider-Man: Homecoming writers John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein had signed on to direct the project. The movie is reportedly a big priority for Warner Bros. and DC Films, along with Wonder Woman 2 and Batgirl, which is currently looking for a new director.

The Flashpoint movie has gone under a lot of changes over the last year alone. Originally, the movie was going to be a normal Barry Allen Flash movie and went through a number of directors. Rick Famuyiwa was the first name attached, but a lot has happened since then. Heck, a lot has changed since last summer when Flashpoint was announced and the release of Justice League in November. Ezra Miller's Flash was a bright spot in Justice League, which was not lost on Warner Bros. and DC Films, which explains the latest news surrounding the project.

The new report claims to come from a "trusted" inside source and says that Flashpoint will begin production during the second half of 2018. It's important to note that this information was obtained before John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein stepped on board, so a lot could change. A July production start does seem likely to meet the 2020 release date and the report goes on to say that the project will have a budget of over $100 million. It's also believed that production will take place in London, at Leavesden Studio, where Justice League was filmed. The production will need additional time to complete the visual effects, which is good. We don't need another Justice League visual effects debacle happening again.

In addition to the return of Ezra Miller as the Flash, Ray Fisher is reportedly coming back as Cyborg and Billy Crudup will reprise the role of Henry Allen, despite being rumored to have departed the project. Kiersey Clemons' Iris West was cut from Justice League, but it's been speculated for months that she will return for Flashpoint. Also, it looks like the project will need to cast some new characters who are reportedly showing up including, Eobard Thawne, who is used in flashback scenes during Barry Allen's superhero birth, Caitlin Snow, who may end up turning into Killer Frost, Dr. Arthur Light, aka Doctor Light, who is reportedly the main villain, and Leonard Snart/Captain Cold along with Mick Rory/Heatwave, who set out to make things "difficult" for Barry Allen.

This is a lot to take in at this time and it has not been officially confirmed by DC Films or Warner Bros., so it's best to take this information with a grain of salt. In the end, it will be up to John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein to see where the story of Flashpoint goes. The new report does not mention Jeffrey Dean Morgan as the Thomas Wayne version of Batman, which has been heavily rumored for months now. You can read the whole report via That Hashtag Show.
