Fourth ‘Gangster Squad’ Poster

Following the photos released last month, Warner Bros. has debuted the fourth poster for Gangster Squad, director Ruben Fleischer's crime drama that takes us back to 1940s Los Angeles. Josh Brolin and Ryan Gosling star as the leaders of a unit within the L.A.P.D. whose main goal is to get rid of gangster Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn) once and for all. Check out this one-sheet with Sean Penn brandishing a Tommy Gun, along with Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling, and Emma Stone.

Did anyone see the trailer I saw? The lack of any low-key shot scenes, the music, and even the actors suggest that this was always going to be more of an artsy and retro action film than a straight out noir. For that very reason, I never expected this to really be a presence at the Oscars (after viewing the trailer, that is), so I could care less when it's released so long as it's not in the dead months of Feb and Jan. Aside from that, the poster looks iffy, but I'm actually drawn to it nonetheless.

Obviously going for noir style, but failed. I hope we get to see a really good poster for this...

This was my most anticipated flick of 2012 before they moved it to January. Man, since then I've just lost interest. It really sucks that this flick probably won't gain any Oscar-attention either now that it comes out next year. It sure looked like it would have been a winner too. Oh well. Anyway, if they re-shot that theater scene then I fear the film won't be as good. From what I read, that scene is what plays out the rest of the climax. *crossing fingers it's still there*

The middle looks like Expendables or something.

So Batman Forever meets the Expendables (talking about the poster not the film itself)

2013 is going to be f*cking insane with the number of quality films coming out.
