According to The Hollywood Reporter, 20th Century Fox is set to acquire Glenn Standring's edgy vampire film Perfect Creature, sources close to the deal confirmed Thursday. The deal is not only the largest sale ever made of a New Zealand film but also marks the first time a U.S. studio has acquired a picture from the compact market.

With the country on a roll from Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings trilogy, the worldwide success of Niki Caro's Whale Rider and Jackson's highly anticipated adaptation of King Kong due at Christmas, Perfect Creature looks to be the country's next highly commercial international release.
