According to Variety, Twentieth Century has picked up Shane Salerno's Reckless.

The sexual thriller centers on a 30-ish married couple who start playing a dangerous game in an effort to spice up their flagging marriage.

Fox-based producer John Davis will produce the pic via his Davis Entertainment banner, along with company prexy Wyck Godfrey.

The script's genesis, however, comes from its exec producer, Craig Fanning, a longtime friend of Salerno's and the owner of one of the world's largest musicvid production companies, FM Rocks. Some five years ago, Fanning told Salerno he was eager to expand into producing movies and offered to pay him his normal quote to create a screenplay Fanning would produce.

It took several years to produce a script that pleased both sides, and recently, Fox expressed enough confidence in the project to move ahead. (The "Reckless" spec sale price reimbursed Fanning his full development costs, with additional fees paid to Salerno based on his present quote.)

"Shane's complaint (five years ago) was, 'Where's the 'Fatal Attraction' for my generation?," said Fanning, in an interview with Daily Variety, "And I thought, he's right: It just needs to be targeted at the MTV demo."
