Fox is getting ready for an American take on a British series. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox has picked up the pilot for an American version of the 1992 British series, Absolutely Fabulous.

Christine Zander wrote the pilot that is now set in Los Angeles. The British series followed two female friends - Edina, a fashion publicist, and Patsy, a fashion editor - whose wild and erratic behavior causes fits for Edina's teen daughter, Saffron.

Zander is executive producing the pilot along with Jennifer Saunders, who wrote for and starred as Edina in the original series. Ian Moffitt, Mitch Hurwitz, Eric Tannenbaum and Kirk Tannenbaum are executive producing as well.
