After Sons of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam backed out of playing Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey, we've heard about several actors who are now in contention for the coveted role. Today, we have word that The Borgias star François Arnaud has also been approached for the part.

Of course, no offer has been made yet, since Universal executives are still considering several different actors. Earlier this week, we reported that Alexander Skarsgård (True Blood) and Jamie Dornan (The Fall) are in the mix as well, but it isn't know if the studio has a top choice yet.

Dakota Johnson is still locked in to play Anastasia Steele, the young college student who has a steamy affair with 27-year-old billionaire Christian Grey. We also reported last week that Jennifer Ehle is playing Anastasia's mother, Carla.

Sam Taylor-Johnson is directing from a screenplay written by Kelly Marcel, with Patrick Marber performing a polish on the script. We reported last month that production was scheduled to begin next month in Vancouver, but if Universal doesn't find its leading man soon, don't be surprised if shooting is postponed.
