According to Variety, Bristol Bay Prods. will team with the Kennedy/Marshall Co. on The Charm School, an adaptation of Nelson DeMille's bestselling 1988 Cold War spy thriller. Frank Marshall will produce the pic.

The drama revolves around a CIA agent who investigates an Air Force officer held prisoner in a covert Russian facility that forces American POWs to train KGB agents.

Marshall was drafted after producing The Bourne Identity spy thrillers.

"I liked this story because it seems contemporary, even though it takes place during the Cold War," said Marshall, who's currently directing Antarctica for Disney. Bristol Bay exec veep Lenny Kornberg and VP Jackie Levine will supervise the project. They are looking for a writer. Marshall said he's not aligned to the project as director at this time.
