Back in May, Paramount Pictures pushed its long-awaited Friday the 13th reboot from March 13, 2015 to November 13, 2015. Sadly, we haven't heard much more on the project since then. But now, while promoting their time travel thriller Project Almanac, Platinum Dunes producers Andrew Form and Bradley Fuller confirmed that the project is still moving forward, with a script still being worked on in hopes of starting production this year. Here's what Andrew Form had to say about the status of Friday the 13th.

"Just working on the script still. Hoping to make that movie this year and Brad, I'm gonna confirm that Jason is in the movie."

Andrew Form made a point of confirming the iconic Jason Voorhes' presence because last year, Bradley Fuller claimed that he "doesn't know if we're going to have Jason." However, back in August, the producer clarified that "Jason will definitely be in the movie." It remains to be seen if Derek Mears, who played Jason in Platinum Dunes' 2009 Friday the 13th remake, will be back as the iconic killer.

Andrew Form's statement that they hope to start production this year could mean that the November 13, 2015 release date may be bumped yet again, since the script isn't ready and they don't have any cast members officially attached. Back in April, we reported that David Bruckner (The Signal, V/H/S) was in talks to direct, but it isn't known if he officially signed on. We'll keep you posted on the status of Friday the 13th as soon as we have more information, but it seems that the project is certainly on the right track.
