FX is bringing the transsexual drama 4 oz. to a TV near you. According to Variety, the cable channel has picked up three script episodes for production.
The drama deals with the metamorphosis of a man who realizes he is a transsexual. He is a married father of two, and a practicing gynecologist who shares a medical practice with his father. The hope is to stretch the storyline over the course of several seasons. The first season would deal with the doctor's decision to switch sexes. The second season would see him actual making the transition. And the third season would revolve around the surgery. Any subsequent season would deal with his trials and tribulations of being a woman.
The show was created by Nip/Tuck's Ryan Murphy and his writing partner Brad Falchuk. Murphy will direct the pilot episode, which Brad Pitt and Dede Gardner are producing. This is Pitt's first foray into television.
The show is currently being cast.
