Back in May, just before production started on Season 6 of Game of Thrones, casting breakdowns leaked that revealed details on 12 new characters that will be introduced this coming season. One of those characters was described as a pirate in his late 40s to early 50s, and while a character name wasn't given, many speculated that this role could be Euron Greyjoy, the uncle of Alfie Allen's Theon Greyjoy, since there were already rumors surfacing that this character would pop up this season. If an unconfirmed report from Watchers on the Wall is true, then that "pirate" role may not be Euron Greyjoy after all, since 33-year-old Danish actor Pilou Asbæk has reportedly been cast as Euron. There will be potential SPOILERS that follow, so read on at your own risk.

The report reveals that the actor was spotted on the set in Ballintoy, Northern Ireland, in a scene that involved a crowd cheering for Euron. Since Pilou Asbæk is only 33 years old, this could mean that the role in the casting breakdown wasn't Euron, or the producers decided to go a bit younger for the role than originally planned. The site's source also provided a brief description of the scene in question that was being filmed in Ireland, which you can check out below, but be warned of potential spoilers.

"Sources say that the Kingsmoot was at least partially filmed today. The scene was very visible from the cliff paths nearby. Yara was present for the scene, as expected. There was no Victarion, as we've also been predicting for some time. Our source did see someone who appeared to be Aeron, playing the Drowned Priest's role in leading the Kingsmoot and speaking often. They didn't think it was the same actor from season 2 who appeared as a Drowned Priest, or anyone they recognized but it was difficult to tell for certain in this case."

In the George R.R. Martin novels, a Kingsmoot is a ceremony in the Iron Islands, where it is decided who will be the new ruler. The source added that shooting at Ballintoy Harbour will continue throughout the week, so perhaps we'll get even more details over the next few days. As of now, the only new Game of Thrones cast members who have been confirmed are Ian McShane, in what is said to be a small but pivotal role, and Max von Sydow as the Three-Eyed Raven. There has been speculation that Ian McShane is playing Randyll Tarly, the father of John Bradley, but that has not been confirmed.

Pilou Asbæk played Paolo Orsini on Showtime's The Borgias, and he recently starred in last summer's big screen hit Lucy. The actor will next be seen in the pivotal role of Pontius Pilate in the epic remake Ben-Hur, arriving in theaters next February, just a few months before Game of Thrones returns to HBO.
