Game of Thrones star Lena Headey has signed on to star in the Clive Barker adaptation Jacqueline Ess.

The story, which was first published in the horror anthology I Shudder At Your Touch before appearing in Clive Barker's Books of Blood collection, follows a young woman who has the ability to transform the body shapes of other people at will. She can also grant men the ultimate sexual experience, although it results in their death.

Here's what Clive Barker, who will serve as an executive producer on the adaptation, had to say in a statement.

"Lena Headey is a marvelous performer with an incredible presence. As far as I'm concerned, there is no better choice of actress for the role of Jacqueline. Her beauty and authority will carry the day."

Jovanka Vukovic will make her directorial debut, working from a screenplay she co-wrote with Christian Francis. The director will also executive produce alongside Clive Barker, Lena Headey, Mark Miller and Ben Meares. Raven Banner Entertainment and Seraphim Falls are producing and will be selling the project to buyers at Cannes later this month. Production will begin later this year.

Lena Headey most recently starred in The Purge, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones and 300: Rise of an Empire, and she can currently be seen as Cersei Lannister on Season 4 of HBO's Game of Thrones.
