HBO's Game of Thrones easily has one of the largest cast of characters on all of TV, which is getting even bigger with the nine new additions announced at Comic-Con 2014. However, a few fan favorite characters won't be present in Season 5, with actor Kristian Nairn revealing that his Hodor character, along with Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) and Meera (Ellie Kendrick), are sitting this year out, which means the show won't be exploring North of the Wall.

Take a look at what Kristian Nairn had to say in an interview with Yahoo! Australia, but be warned, there will be spoilers that follow if you aren't caught up with the show.

"We're actually not in Season 5, by the way. We have a season off and we have a year's hiatus, solely because I imagine our storyline is up to the end of the books. So, I get my year off now to do Rave of Thrones and gallivant all over the world."

Rave of Thrones is Kristian Nairn's global DJ tour where he hosts a series of dance parties for Game of Thrones fans. At the end of Season 4, Hodor, Bran and Meera finally made it to the "weirwood tree" and the Three-Eyed Raven that Bran had been having dreams about. When they entered the cave of children in the forest, Bran is promised a number of different things.

While there are scenes in George R.R. Martin's fifth book, A Dance With Dragons, which could be explored in Season 5, it is believed their plot line in the show is catching up too fast to the author's writing, since he still hasn't finished the final two books in the series. We also reported in June that the show will introduce viewers to Dorne, where we will see new cast members such as Myrcella Baratheon and the Sand Snakes.
