Geography Club, based on Brent Hartinger's best-selling young adult novel, has begun production on locations in and around Los Angeles, it was announced today by producer Michael Huffington.

Geography Club is a Huffington Pictures production. Written by Edmund Entin and directed by Gary Entin, the comedy is a smart, fast-moving account of contemporary teenagers as they navigate the clique mined landscape of Goodkind High School.

Michael Huffington and Anthony Bretti are producing Geography Club, which stars Cameron Deane Stewart, Justin Deeley, Andrew Caldwell, Allie Gonino, Meaghan Jette Martin, Ally Maki and Nikki Blonsky, with Marin Hinkle and Ana Gasteyer and Scott Bakula.

The executive producers are Bryan Leder. The co-executive producers are Joe Dain and John Schwartz. The director of photography is Matthew Irving, the casting director is

Cameron Deane Stewart soon will be seen in the film Pitch Perfect for Universal. Justin Deeley stars as Austin on the CW's 90210. Andrew Caldwell can be seen on the hit CBS series How I Met Your Mother. Allie Gonino stars in ABC Family's The Lying Game. Meaghan Jette Martin stars in Camp Rock and its sequel on Disney Channel, Ally Maki appeared in the ABC Family series 10 Things I Hate About You. Nikki Blonsky is known for her breakout role in the film Hairspray.

Michael Huffington produced Grassroots, a film directed by Stephen Gyllenhaal, which was theatrically released this past week by Samuel Goldwyn Films, and Michael Mohan's romantic comedy Save the Date, which premiered at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, and has been acquired by IFC Films.
