In a strange, disturbing story that has been making the rounds today, it seems that Star Wars creator George Lucas is planning to jigsaw together a new feature film out of old film stock that he will manipulate and animate with CGI. This strange Frankenstein-like cinematic tale comes from director Mel Smith, who helmed Lucas's often derided comedy Radioland Murders.

Talking with the UK's Daily Mail, Smith had this to say:

"He's been buying up the film rights to dead movie stars in the hope of using computer trickery to put them all together in a movie, so you'd have Orson Welles and Barbara Stanwyck appear alongside today's stars."

Mel Smith is reportedly too busy to help George with this new venture. There were no further story details, and there is no official statement from Lucasfilm about this project yet.
