Wolverine won't be going toe-to-toe with King Leonides anytime soon it seems. In an interview promoting P.S. I Love You, Movies Online asked Gerard Butler if he was looking forward to fighting Wolverine in the upcoming X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Butler's answer to the question? "It's not true. I haven't even met on it, I haven't spoken to anybody and I haven't seen a script. And I think I'm working when it's going on..."

That being said, when the follow up question "If they were to offer it to you, would you be interested in doing it?" was asked, Butler answered "Listen, I'd be interested in anything up until I read a script." So the possibility is not completely closed.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine is to be directed by Gavin Hood, and explores Wolverine's early days. The film will cover Logan's early life, and his involvement with the mysterious Weapon X program. It stars Hugh Jackman as Wolverine/Logan, and Liev Schreiber as William Stryker.
