Christopher Eccleston will be taking on the role of Cobra's Number Two, Destro in G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra, and now for the first time, images of him wearing the famous metal mask of Destro is available. The image comes courtesy of ToplessRobot.com and it seems to confirm that, due to the facial movement that is supposed to be a part of the mask, the mask will be CGI.

G.I. JOE: Rise of Cobra Destro First Look

Now, for the nay-sayers, it is worth pointing out that this is a fairly low-resolution of what seems to be the mask moving, so it will probably appear better on-screen that it does in this image.

Between these images of Destro, and the images that have come out of Ray Parks as Snake-Eyes, it's interesting to see how much they seem to have gotten right with the look of G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra, even while other parts of the film seem to be completely off visually.

G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra is scheduled for an August 7, 2009 release. The film stars Ray Parks, Sienna Miller, Rachel Nichols, Said Taghmaoui, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Marlon Wayans, Channing Tatum, Dennis Quiad, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Arnold Vosloo, Karolina Isela Kurkov, Byung Hun Lee and Christopher Eccleston.
